site for christmas

could anyone recomend a caravan site that is open over christmas and new year. we live in south yorkshire and would travel up to 2 1/2 hours in any direction. we would like somewhere with site facilities, entertainment over the period, and good for children as well. thanks the Walkers

We stayed at Stanix Park Silloth 2 years ago & that was great has entertainment & swimming pools etc but do not know if thats too far for you.

Hi Debbie We live in west yorkshire and we went to springwillows at scarborough last new year but its booked up for this year, so we are trying blackpool or southport or morcambe this year, we are like you we like a pub on site and a pool for the kids especially in winter, try www.ukcampsites.co.uk.

If your a member of the camping and caravanning club you could try a site named "Windermere" it is actually situated in Staveley, Cumbria. It is a lovely site with small pub. Lots of hardstandings. We have stayed there only once as this is first year of caravanning and we have lots of sites to try, however, we will be going back at the end of the year. Certainly one of the best sites so far.

we stayed at stanix last newyear and it was brill loads to do we are trying to find somewere for 2008 whats as good.stanix may allready be fully booked
