We're here again!

Now looking for a site for a weekend visit to Alton Towers please for a group of several caravans and their various occupants - lots of kids aged 0-12 and a few dogs (Jack Russells to an enormous Dogue de Bordeaux!) Must have toilets/showers and EHU.

At this rate we'll never be at home! What a life!!!

Regards

Claire & Rob

Its a long while ago now but we stopped at the Caravan Club site at Uttoxeter Racecourse for a couple of nights to visit Alton Towers. Only a short drive to the Theme Park.

The site itself is easy walking distance to the town.

Claire & Rob,

There is a campsite within walking distance (so I'm made to believe) of Alton Towers.

This can be found on www.starcaravanpark.co.uk

It has EHU and shower/washing facilities etc, but so sure about accepting Dogs, also not sure if Alton Towers accept them either, best to ring the campsite to varify this,

best regards, Martin

I would recommend the Starcaravan and camping park as a base for Alton Towers, I used this site last year and it was very good there is also a good pub just down the road that serves great bar meals.

Thanks everyone - really useful info. We haven't got a dog ourselves but we're beginning to wonder if our friends might be best to leave theirs at home for this trip unless Alton Towers has kennel facilities. We'll look into it further.

Cheers
