Site reviews?

Does this forum permit/encourage site reviews? I know other forums have review sections but unsure if permitted on here? I like to both read and write balanced reviews on sites but naturally there’s going to be some negative aspects as well which perhaps goes against forum guidelines?

Hopefully the adjudicators will answer some of this particularly as to what they will accept as limits . The section does not get a lot of use and seems to be left to members discretion though.
Do be careful of severe criticism though as the laws of libel apply.

Because of the forum rules and etiquette, you can post positive comments unless it's effectively commercially promoting a product service or company.

But negative issues need more care. If you have a had a problem with a commercial organisation, you should seek to resolve the problem through the companies complaints procedure rather than disclosing names or details in the forum.

On review websites such as Trip Advisor, those who are subject to negative reviews have the right of reply.
Forum members who have negative experiences on a holidays site should raise the complaint with the management of that site.
On this forum we have no way with which to establish the accuracy of any reviews, so great care must be taken by those writing reviews to provide irrefutable proof that any negative comments are 100% accurate, otherwise the review won't appear.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll leave it. I’ve written a few previously on another caravan forum I no longer used but noticed a lack of reviews on here hence asking the question before ploughing in regardless.

Personally I like to write reviews with a balanced approach as there is often both good and bad with sites, but I do appreciate there is a fine line that forum admin have to abide by.

I still think it would be a good idea, if people find a nice site that could help for overnight stops near motorway junctions or main routes, just a quick note with possibly a post code link.

I think that's certainly within the site rules, it's "reviews" that are actually just a rant that cause problems for web site owners. Personally I like to write very balanced reviews, if I have an issue on site I address it with the site owners, I wrote a few on another forum I used to belong to BUT that section had to be heavily moderated! In this instance we've just returned from an expensive site that seems to attract either glowing or scathing reviews so I was keen to try and point out why good things were good and why bad things can be improved on.

I've just written a review on Trip Advisor for it, before I start to forget things!

Such an option has been frequently used on the Forum without any problems, the difficult area is if someone wants to give a negative review. That is against Forum rules.
