looking for a site with lake access for a spot of canoeing within a hundred mile or so of merseyside. Went to Glanllyn @ bala earlier this year which was ace but would like to try somewhere different. Any ideas?
Low Manesty CC site has access to Derwent Water. I'm not too sure about if you are allowed to take a canoe although I can't see why not.
My local site, Lucksall, just outside of Hereford is alongside the River Wye. They have a place to launch canoes and I believe they also hire them out. Lucksall is a CC affiliated site. I realise you said lake but the Wye is a popular river with canoeists.
Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site is on the banks of Derwentwater. Been a few years since we were there but I think it is open to non members. Check it out on the CCC website for more details.
