siteing the van

Has anybody sited there van and what was it like we were thinking of siteing ours but we cant find a site with everything on that we want and most sites are only open from march to november and some cost an absolute fortune and have nothing on them.

What got us thinking of this is because of the cost of running a large car and it would be better for when we go away for the weekends just off the belt.

Cheers.

Not knowing what part of the country you live in and also how far you want to travel, will make it hard for people specific sites that you would wish to consider.

I have considered this sort of strategy, (due to cost of fuel etc.)

1 - having a seasonal pitch on a site, where you only go on a pitch for the time you are there, and when you are not you van is stored in some sort of compound.

2 - finding a storage site (say in scotland for a year, then wales for a year and so on. this will allow you to go to the storage and tow to sites in that vicinity for as long as you are enjoying that area and so on,

3 - finding a small CL type site which can also store you van say about 50 mile radius from home and enjoy a semi-static life

Many variations are available

Hi

Sorry we live in Hartlepool in the North East and we usually go around the harrogate area or around whitby and scarboro for the weekend.

cheers,

Andy

We often go to South Cliff Caravan Park at Bridlington. They have a lot of 'vans on there on Seasonal Pitches but i haven't any details.

It's near the beach, about a mile South of the centre of Brid', Has a clubhouse, playing area, shops and a tent area too. Our grandchildren love it.

It's run by the local council so is very good.

Go for a short break and see what you think. Tel 01262 671051 for bookings or information.
