Sites in/around Ipswich

moon and sixpence was very expensive last time i looked but why would anyone want to go near ipswich in the first place?
Ipswich area is a good base for the Suffolk coast from Felixtowe northwards including Sutton Hoo at Woodbridge and to the south, within easy reach of Colchester Castle, Colchester Zoo & the Essex resorts of Clacton Frinton ect.

You could try Run Cottage (www.run-cottage.co.uk)which is just the other side of Ipswich towards Felixstowe, You also have Colchester Camping which is 5 minutes from the zoo, but you can hear the traffic from the main roads just outside the site.

hi vicky i would highly recommend forest camping in rendlesham.

it is about 10 minutes from ipswich but is set in the middle of

rendlesham forest and is peaceful.

Denise, ask the 20,000 motor racing fans that embark on a journey to the, Mecca- Foxhall raceway every July, and have done for the past 30years, what they think of Ipswich. My wife and I have thought about moving down there because we love that part of the country. There are far worse places to be living I can assure you.

Vicky, you wouldnt be an oval racing fan by any chance ?
Hi geordie,

I didn't know about the oval, but racing fans we are... Going to the Grand Prix this year, and always go to the Brighton Speed Trials in September!

My hubby lived there about 30+ years ago that's why we're looking for a site, so he may well know about it.

Would you recommend it?

Vicky

oakscaravanpark.co.uk bucklesham rd ipswich looks nice but is Adults only

Hope this helps,I'm from Ipswich so I will try and help, you may be better going just outside ipswich, the major trunk roads mean it does not take long to get to any of the places that you wrote.

Hi Vicky, yes,we go every year, and its usually the first weekend in July for National Hot Rods world final. The last couple of years we have taken the van and stayed for a week because its nigh impossible to get a room booked anywhere. If its a quiet, clean and safe site your looking for try Low House touring park just along the road from the Suffolk show ground. I could look out the Tel.No if this interests you.

Hi Moth,

Thanks for all the info.

It's just the two adults, so an adults only site would be fine. My hubby use to live/work in Ipswich 30+ years ago and wants a trip down memory lane... must be getting old!

Anyway thanks again.

Vicky
