sites in Somerset

Am thinking of going to Somerset for a few days over the half term break. Can anyone suggest a good site - that welcomes both children and dogs? Somewhere near the sea - thanks.

Hi Fiona, we are booked into minehead cc site. Looks nice site, close to sea and allows dogs. Have never visited before though but expect that it is probably upto usual cc standards.

Fiona,

Burrowhayes Farm just outside Porlock is an excellent site. It is at the bottom of Horner Water. Facilities are good and they have stables on site with organised rides from the site. The stables house about 16 horses and the rides last about one hour. Safety hats are provided but i would take wellingtons with you. There is a small shop on site. The Dascombe family have run the site for many years. You will see deer and all sorts of wild life. It is an easy walk into Porlock village. The land is owned by the National Trust but as i said the site has been run for many years by the Dascombe family.
