Sites near Beamish open air museam

Looking for any reccomendations or suggestions for sites near Beamish Museum, I see there is one site about a mile away but have read mixed reviews on it, anyone got any alternatives, either commercial, cl or cs ??

We stayed at the Grange CC site at Durham last week and visited Beamish from there, its only about 20 mins drive. The site is very open and is also clse to the A1M so you do get a degree of ttraffic noise but it is a very well kept site with a newish looking toilet/shower block and a decent play area for the kids. you can walk into Durham from the site although it is about 3 miles and was a bit mudddy in places last week.
