sites on ile de re

Following a previous post about areas in France for cycling, I am looking for a site on ile de re. Maybe its me, but I cannot find any. For an IT professional I am rubbish at searching.

The C&CC site is no use even for finding out if they have a siteon the island. The castels site ditto. Any suggestions? Generally like a large, busy and modern site rather than a quiet field.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Ian

Remember to factor in the cost of going on the toll bridge, we got rather a shock when we went to the island a couple of years back, I seem to remember that the toll was over €20.

The Toll was €15 this year on the 19th of June. It goes up to €27.50 about the 20th June for the high season. If you go I dont think you will want to leave until its time for home and probably not even then.

Hi Ian
We stayed on the Ile de Re in August 2008. We stayed at Camping La Providence. You can read my review here.

There are a number of other Ile de Re Campsites reviewed in the ukcampsite campsite search Poitou-Charentes section

I hope this helps
