SITTING TOO LONG?

I AM LOOKING AT A TOURING VAN WHICH HAS BEEN ON A SMALL STATIC SITE FOR 7YRS. APART FROM THE OBVIOUS MECHANICS NEEDING TO BE LOOKED AT COULD SITTING SO LONG HAVE A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON THE MAIN STRUCTURE OF THE VAN FOR TOWING?

Obviously the tyres will be shot, but my other concern would be that as it hasn't moved in seven years, it probably hasn't been serviced (or checked for damp). The upside to this is that as it hasn't been towed in this time, the body will not have been subjected to all the twisting/shocks that it gets while being towed, so HOPEFULLY the body seals shouldn't have become damaged. If you go for it I would get it serviced straight away (and fit new tyres before you go anywhere).

In my opinion, it may well be fine, the tyres will be useless and it will need a full service with particular attention to all running gear but outside that it hasn't been subjected to the pressures and flexing of towing so if it seems dry, I wouldn't be put off.
