Stayed there when the azaleas and rhododendronswere out - absolute magic. Quiet, clean and plenty of space. Ambleside nearby has a good selsction of eateries and all the Lake District attractions are around. Take waterproofs though!

One of my all-time favourite sites. At peace with nature. We pitched in one pitch over a bank holiday, and after the rush, changed to a nicer pitch near the playpark, overlooking the hill filled with rabbits and deer. Lovely. This is one site where you pick your own pitch and just drop the legs and set up. I would advise steel pegs if using awning as ground is hard and gravelly. Only about a 15 minute walk into Ambleside itself, which I would advise as parking is not too good there.
