Skoda Octavia Estate

I have not towed with one personally but I know others who have it is a fine tow car up to 1200kg a presume it is the 1.9 diesel which a basicaly a 1.9tdi passat 850kg wil be no problem for it

Towed with an Octavia vRS 170 TDi Estate from September 2007 until today! Covered 30000 miles, 5000 of those towing 1175KG. An excellent car that never missed a beat. Powerful, economical and stable.

We have replaced it with an 09 Octavia vRS hatch with the new 170 bhp common rail diesel engine. Will be towing with it for the firt time on 20 March ... can't wait!
 
Hi, I have towed with a Mark 1 (prior to 2004 reg) estate and a Mark 2 hatch, both were 1.9 tdi, the estate 90hp the hatch 105hp. We towed a Bailey Discovery with the estate 1156kgs mtplm, towed fine, the only thing to watch was low noseweight of 60kgs, from memory max tow was 1300kgs. We towed the same van with the hatch, much better performance and nosewight max of 75kgs, max tow 1400kgs. We now have a Ranger 1208kgs mtplm, again no problems, plenty of low down power, returns 32-34 when towing,, 52-54 solo. The engine is not the most refined diesel in the world but is strong and economical and the car represents good value imo.

Many thanks to everyone for the advice. Having purchased a new Octavia I was impressed by the quality but not sure of towing capability-they don't let you test drive one with a caravan attached.
 
Have had our Skoda 2.0 140bhp Elegance for 3 years now, we pull 1324 klg with no problem, have done about 6000 miles towing some abroad and it has never failed us, bye the way its the dsg gearbox and i find really relaxing with cruise control as well.Fuel consumption over 30756 miles including towing is 42 mpg , i am not one of those persons who read their computor read out and take it for gospel, sometimes we read 62 mpg on long run solo but it means nothing really, i keep to my records. Great car Skoda.
