Sky box

Hello everyone.

I am looking to upgrade my "Freesat" box to one with a card so I can view C4 & C5.

Must be 12v operation and compact.

I know that the Pace 1000 mini box is popular but is no longer produced, so ...........What would you recommend?

Thanks.

There are loads of Pace 1000 mini boxes on eBay. I got mine from there and a

I take the one from home as we are paying for the sport etc packages and my wife is a football fanatic

It works Ok on 12V via a small inverter that plugs into a cigar socket.

Just for extra protection I use a surge protector ,as used for computers,on mains and inverter

Gotta remember though that inverters are battery hungry devices. Far better to run directly off 12V if you can and Pace Miniboxes are cheap enough and worth the cost in the long run.

Very true Gary

But we want to use Sky+ and always go on sites with electric hook up unless its at a port for an overnight stop.

They are cheap but a second sub isn't if you must watch football!!

If the warden unplugged my hook up for no reasaon except to cut the grass, I would give them an earful! As the hook ups are3 generally clsoe to the caravan, thsi probably means that your caravan is being splattered with grass cuttings which will need to be washed off. The worrying pasrt is that the rotar may connect an object and that object could get thrown up against your caravan and damage it. Who will pay for the repair especially if you were not on site when it happened?
