With 281 free-to-view channels to choose from (admittedly most of them rubbish) I can do without Channel 4 and 5. It just depends whether those two channels are worth

With a 'non sky' receiver you can get C4 and its related channels, I believe that C5 is soon to follow.

I always feel there is something slightly arcane about sitting in the sun in Alsace with views of the hills in Germany and watching Paultheweatherman telling us how bad the weather will be in lower Wharfedale tomorrow......

I have just bought a Maplin Freesat Suitcase Kit. Loads of channels but not C4 or C5. Some of the 4 group channels are on More4, Film4 etc. I have tried to find out when C4 will be going FTA but I think they are still contracted to Sky. Any info on this Freesat C4 issue would be welcome

Hi Jim,

I have a suitcase kit which I bought from Aldi but I had the same problem as you. I have discovered that Channel Four is on it but it is not listed by name, it is on one of the channels that is only identified by numbers. I will be going to my caravan tomorrow and I will post the exact location then. I haven't been able to find Channel Five but I'm not losing any sleep about that!
