Hi all, we are very interested in purchasing a sky system for our caravan, i would like to buy a new box (so as not to mess with the one at home)i would like a really slimline one and a very small dish (not one of the big ones sometimes seen on site) we only tour around the UK at the moment, so we do not need to use it abroad!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Andrew.

hi andrew we have a very small dish that is half the size of a normal one, it can sit in the van on its own stand or i just attatch it with its bracket to the jockey well stand.

with sky boxes we found that unless we wanted freesat that you only get free to air channels,we have to take our own sat box because the sky card is married to that box and will not work in any other box.

we asked sky if we could put the card in our old box when we go away and they said no but they could send us a new card for the old box and that would cost us an extra 10 a month.

Its called multi-room and you would have to have the extra box in the other room if you wanted to watch the full package.

The only snag with that is that Sky stipulate that with multi-room you should keep both boxes connected to the phone line permanentlt and not just for the first 12 months.

You can see why ---say your package is

Hi Andrew

we take our receiver from home. It takes no more than a couple of minutes to disconnect and then reconnect when we get back. This then gives us all the channels we subscribe to (mainly sports).

We use a Multimo dish and tripod. We had good reception from Dalchalm in The Highlands down to Biarritz.

Regards

Ken
