Slatebarns CC Edinburgh

Just looked up this site for Edinburgh, does anyone know anything about this site apart from the club book. Also there seems to be a cl with the same name and owners have the same name as the owners of the club site. Have you been to either of these sites please thinking of going october. Erica.

We have stayed at the CL which is close to Roslin Chapel. It is a well kept CL with a toilet and part hard standing. The caravan site is next door to the CL but personally I prefered the CL.

We have been going for years at August bank holiday. We stay on the site although the CL looks very nice. You are correct - they are next door to each other and both owned by the same people - a smashing couple. Beautifully kept place with good facilities. There are grass and hard standings although steel pegs are better on the whole site. What else do you need to know?

The CC affiliated site at Slatebarns is excellent, even if the pitches are a bit small by modern standards.

It's well placed not too far from the Edinburgh by-pass (avoid that in rush hour, morning and night!).

As you're going out of season go to Cramond village, not far from the main CC site - the Cramond Inn is worth a visit for a meal but book or get there early.

Thanks for all the advice. We are looking perhaps to try the cl and from what,s been said it sounds ok to try. I,m a wheelchair user so we,ve always asked about the site or area but not been up that neck of the woods and Edinburgh sounds a nice place to visit. The cl seems a good choice and cheaper than the club site and with there being 3 of us going it would work out much cheaper going on the cl. We like staying on cl,s as we like the small sites and of course hopefully alittle peace and quiet wouldn,t go a miss. Now looking forward to trying it sometime this year. Once again thanks for the in put. Erica.
