The plan is for my daughter and her friend to sleep in the awning annexe. However, I have a nasty feeling in my bones that guess who will be sleeping in there in the end? Phil and I. I appreciate what you said about the dogs but I don't think there would be much room for them and they'd prefer their crates anyway.

Anyway, we live in hope, she might not want to go with us in the end, and might prefer to stay with her grandma (not). LOL!

Lisa - should you and hubby be sleeping in the awning try a tot of alcohol. Alcohol has a lower freezing point than blood so take it for maedicinal purposes - forget the side effect of the pleasures of a nightcap. Maybe, depending on your daughter's age, she and her friend could be coaxed into the awning with a small dram or two.

Ummmmmm no, but equally a funny name for her dog from which she gets great delight in calling him when I'm around. That's his kennel name :O(

I much prefer her to call him by his proper name of Diesel then I don't come out in a cold sweat.
 
Thanks for the suggestion to cuddle little Gaylord but that won't be possible because he will be in his crate, he's not allowed on beds etc.

LB - you can join me in the awning annexe if you want to but there's to be no funny business and you won't be allowed to speak either. Great fun.

Sleeping in an awning is camping - it's sleeping in a tent, except that one side is rigid.

Tent campers don't take electric blankets, oil-filled radiators or try to maintain a temperature of 21 degrees.

Have a look at Towsure and Jackson's website, they sell lots of camping equipment.

If the daughter and friend don't like camping, perhaps a hotel or guest house would be more suitable.

I like your tip about sending my daughter and her friend to a guest house but as they are young attractive 16 year olds, they'll remain under my watchful eye with two 'guard dogs' on duty in the awning. LOL!

Lisa -typical parent to cramp their style. What will the boyfriends think when they see you and the hubby blocking their way to their friends and they thinking it would be an evening of innocent friendship. LOL
 
I have slept in a anexe in winter and its frezzing, I also sleep in a tent in winter when fishing with my son and keep warm because we sleep on beds not air beds and have good sleeping bags, look on a fishing shop sight (climaxtackle) and get a Trakker big snooze sleeping bag and thermal cover, cost about
