Snooper S600 Syrius Truckmate Sat. Nav.

While looking on-line to upgrade my TomTom One XL V2 for UK/ROI I spotted the Snooper S600 Syrius Truckmate.

Has anybody tried one ? It seems to have a lot of features that caravanners would find very useful. It is a bit expensive and the cheapest I could find was £239.

I would appreciate any comments about it.

i looked at it only last week, i had a hell of a job finding a retailer (other than online) who actually had one in that i could look at, i ended up going to a car stereo specialist who retailed for snooper. the unit looked good and did seem to work ok, however i was a bit put off at some of the comments from the sales man who pointed out that the unit would need to be regularely updated due to new bridges or restrictions and i was allso a bit cobcerned that snooper seem to put more gloss on the units ability to pick up speed cameras rather than get you to where you want to be.

in short i tried the unit i put in my vans details and set a route i knew would be unsuitable for my van, the unit suggested the route anyway so it failled at the first hurdle.

it seems to be a good unit and if you had the time to set it up i think it could be ok however i decided to stay with tom tom and purchased a new go 730.
