Hi Guys, like the posts good advice, we have been useing an 80 wat solar panel to charge our bat in our old caravan, but have up graded to an Elddis Oddysey 432 03 reg lol, with far more gear on it an an automatic motormover fited as well.
The bat is new 110 AH and a spare 75 ah.
We got a 50wat solar panel with the new van, that has better conections so have put the bat end fitings on.
My question is as we are going away next yr for a 6 weeks without EHU, And the wife wants a new 12v tv for xmas lol, can we connect the 80 wat to the 50 wat panel to give me 130 wat .
I dont want to sell 1 of the pannels and keep other, any advice would be great .

With certain but important reservations you can connect the panels via a single controller but my advice is don't go that route, there is no need.
The two panels each with their own controller, each connected to the same battery are almost certain to work happily together.
Unless either controller is very technically bottom budget then effectively you will end up with a 50 plus 80 = 130 watt system.

I have wondered about solar panels in parrellel, I find 50 watts in the summer in the long scottish days fine, but we spent 4 weeks in october this year in scotland and on grey days I was struggling a bit. My controller has two separate inputs so I would imagine adding an extra 50 watts would be OK, but 80 watts seems to be a more usual size now so I wonder how the parreling will perform. Unfortunately, short of talking to the designer of the controller in China I will never know until I try it.
