Sony Play station 3 network error

Kids home from school, had tea, switched on life support machine (AKA Playstation 3) and found that the network has crashed and they cannot play with others via the ps network.

Googled the fault code 8001050F and it seems to be a global problem.

Anyone else got unhappy kids.
 
I read on the BBC websites its a new but known issue and they are advising people not to switch on there Older PS3 models until they have a fix... whoops!

Im sure if its Sonys fault they will come good and fix it
