Which one to choose is the problem. I like both and have dislikes in both but nothing seperates them apart from Hyundai's 5 year warranty. Any comments from existing owners I would appreciate. Thanks Brian
Owned a Sorento since June this year travelled 2500 miles in the summer travelling to France towing a Twin axle. No complaints what so ever the BEST tow car I have ever had. Loads of torque and good mpg. Towed @ 70mph through France at ease climbed 1 mile 6% hills no problem dropping to about 60mph. For me no choice.
I have had a Terracan Auto since May and have towed quite a lot (Caravan = 1400kg) and no problem. Fuel consumption not so good about 22MPG when towing and 29MPG when not otherwise a great car. The Terracan has a much larger boot. I bought a demonstrator and saved about
Owned a Sorento for about 18 months it tows like a dream a heavy twin axle van is comfortable and reliable returns about 22mpg towing and 32 solo. I traded in a TD5 Disco to buy it and it knocks spots of the Disco. Go for thew Sorento every time it also won 4x4 of the year in one of the mags last year!
As you know Kia and Hyundi are sister companies. The Terracan now has 160HP the Sorento 135HP and the Sorento EX has permanent 4WD very usefull as you never no when you may need 4WD on the road. The Terraca is more spacious. My best advice is to ring Hyudai head office to ask when they are going to start importing the permanent 4WD 7 seat Terracan that the rest of Europe is getting. Don't be fobbed off it is on it's way, ask for some one high up in the company.
