Sorento Weight Specification

Have just been looking at the car weight shown for the new Kia Sorento on the advertising website which states the following;
e.g. Model 2.0 CRDi
Maximum Kerbweight 1879 kg
Minimum Kerbweight 1795 kg
Gross Vehicle Weight 2510 kg
I suppose the Gross Weight means the amount of weight the vehicle can carry. What about the Max & Min Kerbweight, what does this indicate, can anyone tell me?

It would be more correct to say the amount the vehicle can carry is the kerbweight subtracted from the Gross Vehicle Weight. Manufacturers quote a range of kerbweights because it depends on what engine, transmission, options etc you have fitted. The only accurate way to work out what you can carry is to weigh the car to obtain your "kerbweight", and bear in mind the Gross Vehicle Weight is a legal maximum limit.

I think you will find the new 2013 sorento has dropped the 2.0 engine and now all have 2.2. Also all except the KX1 will have self levelling suspension.At least Kia have listened to the caravanner complaints of instability.
