Sound bars

We also have the Samsung. It is their symphony system which also utilises the TV speakers with a separate woofer.

A mid range system, but it makes a big difference.

In the caravan, we used a Bluetooth speaker for the tv sound. Bose in our case. As the tv sound was pathetic, it made a massive difference..

A good sound system does not have to mean loud.

We also use a Bose mini in the caravan. Louder in the caravan, but cannot be heard outside. TV speakers tend to blast out the back of a TV.

We bought an Avtex TV and got an excellent offer on the matching soundbar. Excellent combo.
We bought the combination when they first came out and had a lot of issues with delay that Avtex could not resolve. They gave us a full refund and we bought a LG 28" instead.

Another "solution"?

We carry a basic "speaker" a SONY SRS-XB21, its primary use being to listen to music, from our phones, tablets or my PC.

In line with trying to minimise kit lugged about and hassle, we can use it with a 3mm phone jack, from our aging Avtex TV. [Using that connection because the TV does not offer Bluetooth but has a headset output.]

The reality is I very rarely bother, we don't listen to much TV that requires improved audio fidelity, as said that need is found elsewhere.
Plus, the TV is integrated with the vans excellent Pioneer sound system but that is power hungry and is only used when on an EHU.

For catching the news or the odd TV programme that grabs our interest, the Avtex's sound is adequate, without the discontinuity required setting up something better for what is probably of short duration.

We did try the 3mm jack connection to enable us to sue the speakers in the caravan, but the sound was awful and the speakers boomed no matter what you tried hence the purchase of the Bose mini soundbar.
