Hello

I have a question for the swift group parts department, If you are listening.

I have unfortunately damaged the rear of my 2005 swift lifestyle. It requires a replacement panel and a light cluster. Apparantly a front panel is about £700 Yet the rear panel comes in at £3600 + vat. Seems a little excessive when the rear panel is far less intricate than the front.

To replace this panel with a genuine part will undoughtably wright off our van due to the excessive cost of replacement.

I hope that you can advise

Kind regards and many thanks as always

Michael

Depending upon where you are Michael, it might be worth contacting a company like Panelworks (www.panelworks.co.uk) who will probably be able to repair your caravan. Without them, many a caravan would have been written off by insurance companies.

You'll probably find that the front panel is manufactured in easy to repair GRP, whilst the rears are often ABS plastic, hence the cost difference.

Is this a genuine enquiry? Why doesn't he contact Swift direct? The obvious spelling mistakes on an otherwise well written message seem a bit strange as well.

Hello again

Yes this is a genuine enquiry, i have tried to contact swift direct however they only deal direct with trade and not the end user such as myself. I have seen people speaking with swift through forum's like this so i thought i would give it a go.

Thank you very much nigel for your advice i will look them up and ask them to quote for the repair, depending on location and travel obviously.

Thanks paulT for your comments on my spelling, being disalectric i do struggle with spelling and grammer relying on the spell check contained in my cellular device

Only one manufacturer used to respond on this site and I don't think it was Swift, none do now. I don't think they even monitor this forum. Have you tried Swift Talk?

Swift have their own forum monitored by their own support staff. Also hidden away in their website is a direct number to same support staff.

Before the Swift Talk forum, some folks from Swift ( mainly a guy called Ash) did read and post on here. Not done so since they set up Swift Talk.

Michael, I would agree with others, go to Swift Talk.

However also please come back and post some more on this forum. There may be other things we can help with,or perhaps you can help others.

If you need the panel try this site. I have not used them but know of people who have been pleased with them. http://www.caravanpanels.com/
I have not checked their price but think it will be a lot cheaper than Swifts.
