spare wheel carrier and tyre

Hi guys just took my spare wheel of to check it before my long trip to spain this week.

Ive got Baily Wyoming which is 18 months old now and the tyre has never been fitted.

On closer inspection ive noticed there are 4 marks on the tyre wall they are in the shape of the spare wheel carrier arms.

has any body had this problem before I contact Bailey direct

thanx Tony

Yes its a common problem with the AL-KO carrier, a suggestion is to cut a circle of 3 ply & rest the tyre on that & do'nt tighten the wheel retaining nuts to tight

Another one that PC could help with and report back to AL-KO this problem as l am sure it could be a safety issue, not all would notice the defect changing a wheel after a puncture which then could cause an accident with a tyre blow out.

Nigel l know its not PC s intent to challenge manufactures on their products but if genuine problems arise on safety surely its best to report it back to the manufacturer and PC is in the best position for this, its us that live with our vans that find these problems out and it must be good for the industry to have them highlighted so they can act especially where safety is a concern.
