Unfortuneately the gas venturi tube in many gas appliances is a favaourite place for spiders or other instects to crawl into, and when they do, they upset the gas/air mixing that is essential for getting a good flame. 1994 oven, is now 18 years old. When was it last properly serviced?

I agree with both above. Try lighting all rings on the hob. If they all burn normally then probably not the regulator. Try vacuuming the oven burner with the pointed tool. This causes a massive suction which should shift any webs. If this doesn't work it could be the thermostat. This controls the oven temperature and could be stuck closed. Try slamming the oven door a couple of times. If still no oven go a qualified person.

Hello wafler,
Quite often a vacuum cleaner does not shift the occlusion, its quite surprising how tenasious some of the insect nests can be. also in many burners the venturi tube often doubles back on its self ,ad if they get round the bend they are almost impossible to shift. But its worth a try.

Just remeber you and your families safety is at risk if the work on any gas appliance is not carried out correctly. If you are not gas competent, the you should refer the work to a qualfied gas fitter.
