First time out in new van this weekend the floor was very spongey went to dealers and has de laminated front to back Swift Elegance new technology seems rubbish. Can I return unfit for purpose??

Unfortunately, probably not, as you can still use the van with a spongy floor. Therefore you are not denied going on holidays in the van. I believe under the law you probably need to let the supplier (whom you have the contract with) attempt one repair at their cost. If the repair is unsatisfactory then you can take the problem higher. Did you use a finance company to purchase all or part of the van? If so, contact them and they should be able to help.

A brand new Swift Elegance with a delaminated floor is clearly unfit for purpose.
Go back to your dealer and demand a full refund under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 ( and as amended ).
A failed floor front to back is serious enough to demand a complete refund or replacement rather than a repair. Check your caravan insurance policy. You may have some Legal Expenses cover which may help you.
Don't take no for an answer.
