Yes . you would need a BE to tow the caravan with a Sorrento because most models have a GVW (or MAM) of about 2600kg) meaning it would leave a caravan MTPLM limit of only 900kg.

No problem but my post was way back in Sept?
 
And in most cases you also will need B+E if you will be towing with the Sportage this due to GVW/MAM of 2250kg (according to my V5) which leaves you with a MTPLM of 1250kg.
 
That is the car we've got in the MK-4 spec, good tug with lots of power and torque, stable and secure to tow with as well. All in all more then enough to tow our Lunar Clubman with MTPLM of 1465kg.
