Spraying awning rails Aluminium to White

Has anyone thought of spraying their chrome awning rails white along with replacing the black rubber insert to white also ?

pro's and con's ?

Could use a rubber spray they use on alloy wheels that can be peeled off if needed.

Which make of caravan fits chrome awning rails? All I've ever had is aluminium with a plastic insert which I've changed when they have become perished.

In answer to the initial question I haven't mainly because mine are off white anyway. There's every possibility you could do it but would it really look any better than what you have now? Spray blocking the awning rail may produce a problem as well. Depending on quality and longevity of the job you could well affect your re sale value as well.

To successfully paint aluminium it first needs to be prepared with acid etching paint, similar to an undercoat. If you just apply paint, it will start to peel in places and then look patchy. The plastic insert comes in a variety of colours. Google "Awning rail PVC insert". Best to use it when it's warm.
