Spring Travels

As Spring is nearly here , time for some early bookings.
First day of Spring we shall spend a few days at one of our favourite CLs Pool Bank Farm Yorkshire. 8 miles from Harrogate and Leeds same distance South ,FSP.

Then we will move up to York Caravan Park, 2 miles outside of York. FSP. Pub that is “Hutch close “ plus bus stop right outside.

Nearly picked a site 8 miles north , Lysander Arms. Ticks all the boxes but couldn’t get through by phone or nor book on line. Looking at Google Earth it seems a very cramped site yet only 13 vans. Next time perhaps.

We going to this place Fir Tree Stables and a (C/L site in the adjoining field) Pateley Bridge 3 miles and Harrogate is 8 miles ..

At Easter Old Diary Cottage Newnham on Severn first time looking forward to some sightseeing ...

Think I will head up to Perth, I like the club site there and it's only about 2 hours from home.

Off to Wyton Lakes in Cambridgeshire next week, then a bit of a hole in the timetable, until early July: Greenacres CS in Dorset. Then Southcliffe near Bridlington ( daughter and grandchildren in a static, us in our van) in August school hols. Nothing after that as yet.

Our 2025 holidays have been booked for months - Travelodge in Dumfries in Feb/Mar - our regular Norfolk CL in Apr/May and Oct/Nov - a trip to Orkney & Shetland in Jun/Jul - and another regular CL in Northumberland in Aug/Sep.

2026 holidays are pencilled in - we like to organise well in advance!

Wales for a long weekend ex pooch next week, Forest of Dean lodge for five days inc pooch mid February. Two weeks in large static in south Lakes in June inc pooch. Need to fill something in for April. Thinking of early September abroad I fancy driving, Mrs OC I think would prefer flight package. So it could be Malta, Italy or Turkey, or for me Black Forest/Trier, Beaune/Jura or Vendee. Some very good prices for two bed lodge chalets at £250-350pw. Jury out at moment.

Grafham Water end of March courteous of a CAMC offer giving us 5 nights pay for 4! 🙂

Last year was taken up with hospital appointments for eye operations. Now waiting for Carpal tunnel operations on both hands, so no booking for me yet.

Cant you sleep over there 4.30AM!
Ditched the poles a while ago , its the paperwork nowadays that builds up.
As with Hutch last year was appointment after appointment for one or other of us but looking promising for this year.

Caravan service this month. Then March ,Lincolnshire and then move down to Norfolk. April North Yorkshire. May Cornwall. June North Wales.July South Devon.August silly season stay at home.September North Devon . October Yorkshire.November Cromer Norfolk to stock freezer up again with Crabs and Lobsters for winter months, Stay in UK nowadays as in 80’s and health.
