Sprite Alpine Heater,

I have a 2009 alpine,The heater being on the left of the van and above it is a drawer,When the heater is on either Gas or Blown heat, this drawer above the heater gets hot and i mean hot,im afraid over a long term use it may scorce the draw,Is there anything i can do,i was thinking of putting turkey foil underneath the draw and so keeping the heat away,Many thanks..

Hello Eddie,

It is only natural that a heating appliance will tend to heat up the surfaces around it, but if you suspect the temperature rise is excessive, then first of all if you can, check that none of the blown air hoses have come adrift behind the heater. If they have then of course it a simple matter to reconnect them.

Failing that and if the temperature exceeds 70C then the installation needs to be looked by a specialist, and as you have a 2009 van it should still be under warranty with your seller.
