Ray , Firstly i appologise for any offence caused it was ment as a little light hearted banter and I never wrote to offend , getting back to the discussion, the point I was trying to make ( badly) was that the mk2 Sportage is a good car and one thing that has been missed is price --you get a lot of car for your buck , I tow a Bailey Burgendy series 5 , it tows well, safely and is hugley reliable
I think it is time to draw a line under this , MR Bell ask for a test drive or look at the Caravan Club Web site as all those cars have been tested at some point or Pratical Caravan I think have tested all of them , though the review of the Sportage was not kind, however shortly after the reveiw the gearbox was changed to a six speed and te tourqe uprated , at the end of the day its horses for courses
 
Hi ask your garage to look at MPG they improved mine , also blow the tyres up to max , rougher ride but makes all the differnce and less tyer wear turn air con off
