Static on the driveway insurance

Hi All,

First time poster here ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a static caravan on the driveway as extended accommodation for our main house, but it's proving a ****** to insure. Everyone I go to says 'its not in a holiday park so we wont insure it!'. Has anyone got any recommendations please of an insurance company that would give us a quote ?

Thanks in advance
Bob

Its far from uncommon for some people to have a static caravan on their property so I'm pretty certain there must be companies that will insure such a risk. Farmers of have them on their land so I'd suggest trying the NFU.

HI, Thanks and I just looked at the NFU site and it says for caravan insurance .. 'This cover is only available if you are taking out a new home contents insurance policy or when adding to an existing policy.' .... which is not ideal. Any other ideas welcome please.

I suspect that your best option might be to contact an insurance broker. Most insurers these days are only able to deal with fairly standard Household or Motor enquiries; for anything which falls outside the 'normal' it's usually "The computer says no...."

Thank you - I will try the broker idea ๐Ÿ™‚ & give my home insurance company a ring. Appreciate the responses. Thanks again

Lifesure are basically a broker. They specialise in leisure vehicles and statics. No idea if they can find you a policy to cover your needs but we have always found them helpful.
