Wendy - are you sure you are not talking about the omnidirectional aerial, which I think most would agree are c**p?!!

The new 530 directional gets a huge ammount of praise. So far I have found mine to be superb.

If that's the aseiral that's fillted to our split new Abbey Cardinal - do not waste your hard earned money on it.

Get a decent one on a Pole you can take with you and set up once on Site

I have a status 530 on my van and don't use it because the signal is usually to weak.

Apart from a external aerial being cheaper and easier to fit, you will be able to get freeview,if you need it? providing you get a high gain aerial of course,

The stats 530 is like a breath of fresh air, but you do have to learn how to set it up. You need to understand if the area you are in requires a horizontal or vertical aspect, and only after setting this do a scan from your TV. After scanning it will require a rotation to gain the best picture.

Thanks to this aerial I managed to watch Englands efforts in the world cup from an isolated site in North Wales. The friends if ours with status 315's couldn't achieve a picture.

Our 530 is brilliant. never failed to get a signal even in mountainous wales. You need to raise it and rotate it. Soemtimes BBC2 is poor but a slight adjustment on the aerial always improves it. I ahve also found that extending the vhf poles can improve the picture, although it shouldn't do so.

We've used it a couple of times - really can't be bothered with it, or the TV!!
