Hi i have a standard status aerial on our caravan we were trying to tune our digital tv and couldnt get any chanels do i need to change our status booster for a digital one and will a standard status pick digital chanels up ? .
There's no such thing as a digital aerial (or booster). Your Status aerial will pick up broadcast digital and analogue signals but whereas an analogue system will give a fuzzy picture with a weak signal, the digital is all or nothing - a weak signal will generally mean no channels are detected or will give a picture which is broken up or freezes. You don't say what kind of Status aerial you have, but the old flying saucer type will usually have poorer performance than the newer directional model.
You will not stand much chance of getting a decent digital signal if you have the Status 315 (flying saucer) aerial, regardless of which booster you have. Best is to change to a Status 530 directional for digital signals.
We have the Status directional aerial. Went to Wales recently, where anologue had been switched off, and got all the digital programmes, no problem, using standard status booster. It also worked well at Tewkesbury Abbey CC site, where TV reception was said to be "poor".
