Status directional aerial

When I tried to raise the aerial at the weekend, I could not budge the locking nut on the aerial's internal post. I have since put WD 40 on the thread but still cannot release the post. I fear that brute force will result in expensive damage to the aerial or the caravan. Can anyone suggest a way to release the nut?

A short sharp tap with something solid on the nut normaly does it,
It works ok for me when i have locked ours up too tight.

I have now lubed the thread with some silicone grease ............

Many thanks for your response, Sprocket, which gave me the confidence to take a cold chisel and hammer to it. A quick sharp tap did the trick. I'll now lok out for some silicone grease to avoid it happening again. I really appreciate your help.

Just a bit of advice:
Remove all traces of the WD 40 from the plastic, it will cause it to swell and should never be used on plastic or wiring.

Use silicone grease or spray
