Steadies split pin advice needed

Hi,

I've an old Lunar Clubman and went away for the first time this weekend (now totally hooked!) and what looked like a split pin on the end of the corner steady snapped through. Replaced it but on winding the leg, the new one snapped through too. Are they not split pins? Or what else can I use?

I had the same problem,what was fitted to mine was a roll pin,which is a split pin you hammer in & out using a parallel pin punch.Hope this is not to technical for you.

A good caravan accessory shop/workshop failing that if you live in the Midlands you can get them at Jacksons of Arley

Halfords do them-measure the size(diameter)using the shank of a drill in the hole. If I remember rightly they were 3mm/1/8".
