Steel wheel / alloy wheel conversion

Hi, I own a 2005 Sprite Major 5 that is currently running the standard 14inch, 5 bolt, steel wheels. I know that in 2005 alloy wheels were an option but we didn't go for them then. I now wish to get a set and wondered if anyone here had any idea what specification alloys I required and where I can get them from apart from Swift?

I'm aware that the owners handbook tells me they are of the 5J standard but the info my dealer told me is required isn't stamped onto the steel wheels.

I also understand that I've got to get different (stronger) bolts.

Any help appreciated although I realise I may have to call Swift for help.

As sprocket has pointed out, you must be sure the wheels will carry the max weight of your van and some to allow for the kitchen sink syndrome.

It would be the best bet to go with OEM wheels (original equipment manufacurere), so that you don't fall foul of insurance "get out of jail" clauses, should the unthinkable happen. You could still use second hand from a breaker, as long as they are not damaged. If you do that I would take them to atyre depot and have them checked for balance and buckle before taking the chance.

Thanks for the advice, I spoke to Swift yesterday and they confirmed the required wheel specifications. Also looked on Tyre-Line. Miriad Products stock the required wheels so all I need to do now is order them.

Thanks again.
