What do you guys use to sterilise your Aquaroll?
Had one supplied with van and just about to set off on first trip and it smells a bit wiffy.

Every so often I drop a couple of Sainsbury Baby Bottle sterilizing tablets in the Aquaroll then pump it through and let it stand for an hour. Drain off and then refill with clean water. No after taste.

Martin. has a consinutancey of a Goat, maybe once a year I use Milton fluid If . Used tablets after the van had not been out for 3 months due to repair and it blocked the filters. I dont change the filters just a good wash out , and we drink from the caravan taps, same as at home. The tea and coffee stuff the good lady likes, is not afected. . But always have a couple of resting, fresh buckets of water for the dogs, to let any chlorine in the water fade off.

Bleach and water left in the water container for several days when I know the container is not going to be needed, once or maybe twice a year is my regime.

Google can give the bleachwater ratios, I do not recall them right now  .

But, I would happily use Campden tablets or any of the low cost baby bottle sterilising solutions from supermarkets.

I don't get hung up on sterilising containers except when I have filled them from riverloch sources, as a precaution I usually sterilise afterwards, never had any problems, but if the water source is uncertain I always boil it pre-consumption.

Anseo, I was , living in Monymusk, near Aberdeen, in 1981, and the water from the well froze up for 13 weeks an I was pumping Water from the Don every morning and evening to fill the house water tanks. Pure water. Healthy. Great, especially with a dram added.

Well there's more truth to that than you might think:.

In years gone by, during one of the many cholera outbreak;s in London, a Dr John Snow found a marked lower incidence of infection where the people tended to drink beer rather than water . This led to the revelation that cholera was indeed a water borne infection, and it was cross contamination of drinking water and sewage that was the prime cause. It led to the establishment of the London sewer systems by Joseph Bazalgette.

The brewing process pasteurises the beer killing the cholera bacterium.

Interesting Prof. Hence the saying P$$$$D as a rat :p
Seriously for those who don't know there was a distinct rise in Woosieism during the Victorian era.
The most famous being Thomas Crapper.28 September 1836; died 27 January 1910. He was a plumber who founded Thomas Crapper & Co in London. He was noted for the quality of his products and received several royal warrants. The then Queen was not amused :) ;)

For eons when working on site overseas I always cleaned my teeth in beer, never tap water.

Was also a professional alcoholic i.e. booze paid for on expenses, paid to be there, and keep clients on side by have a booze up.

Garlic was used in France for cooking as the water supply until the 1970's wasn't too clean, garlic being a natural antiseptic was employed.
