Sticky Stuff

Hi

We've just had the last two weekends away, after the van had been in for a service. Theirs two lines of sticky residue on the centre front window left from the tape the dealer used to display the service sheet. The van was in for nearly three weeks, as it required warranty work, the adhesive has bonded to the window. we've tried caravan cleaners, Fenwicks etc, but it wont budge

Any ideas of how to safely remove it without damaging the window,

Thanks Pauline

Hi Pauline,

In the past, I've used cold cooking oil. Just soak the sticky area....leave for 10 to 30 minutes and then wash off with warm, soapy water. I used this method to remove the sticky residue, left by manufacturers stickers, on my caravan windows - it won't affect the plastic.

Cheers,

Ron

Hi Phillip, Don't know if I'm missing something here, but surely you should be asking the dealer what he's going to do to remove the sticky residue?

If there's a risk of damage and they've used an unsuitable tape they must surely be responsible.
