hi people

up until last saturday i was the proud owner of a coachman amara 580/4 twin axle 2000.this was a very well planed excersise causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage pulling up gates and posts and fences and done with out waking anyone they even removed all security devices some how.

if you are offerd or looking to buy an amara check its genuine as mine will most certanly have major damage to it.

You have my sympathies.

However, when you are talking about security devices does this mean they removed a tracking device and also all the marks that are usually imprinted all over the van? Was it Theftbeaters or CRIS marked?

Unfortunately, according to insurers the majority of vans are stolen from people's homes so they usually give discounts for storing in a recognised storage compound.

Personally I suspect your van is on its way to Ireland by now.

so sorry to hear about your van - my friends had theirs stolen two years ago - this year they had a phone call from the police in Ireland - their van had turned up there - had not even been opened - all the stuff was still in there. Were only alerted by the person the thief was trying to sell it to - he noticed the cris number had been tampered with and called the police. needless to say, the insurance had long paid up!

Hope you get some good news soon.

anyone whe has the cheek to steal someone's pride and joy wants their hands chopping off. sorry to hear the news. check places like eBAY as i am sure many stolen 'vans end up there and you could try ringing some caravan salvage yards, as most stolen/recovered caravans get taken to them if the owner can't be traced.
