Hi all

We've decided to have a week away next week. Can any one help with a stop over 2 - 3 hours from Calais.

We're booking an early morning ferry so will be very tired arriving in Calais. We will have 300 miles to campsite so we just want to shave about 50 - 80 miles off.

The campsite is Camping Le Croix sacker, burtoncourt near Metz.

Lutz will most probably be the expert here, any ideas welcome.

Thanks

Hi

If you are intending to travel A26 to Reims and then A4 to Metz, there is a very pleasant site at Guignicourt, a few km from junction 14 of the A26 (a little north of Reims). It is Camp Municipal Bord de l'Aisne. Leave A26 at Junction 14 and follow signs to Guignicourt and Neufchatel sur Aisne. Continue through Guignicourt towards Neufchatel and turn R before a garage near the end of the town. Then turn R,then L. The site is, as it says, on the banks of the Aisne river.

If you feel like (and can afford) a decent meal out on your first night in France, there is an excellent restaurant in Neufchatel - "le Jardin".

Have a good trip.

Cheers

Paul
