stopover suggestions please

Can anyone please suggest a stopover near to birmingham and just off the M6, we are travelling to cornwall in August from the Lake District and need an overnight stop to break our journey. I have heard some horror stories of stoping at motorway service areas and would prefer a site if possible.

We are Caravan Club members and dont mind a CL site or a site which isnt CC.

Hi Barbara,

we are going to Western super mare in July. Wanting to do the same as you we looked up a few sites in our members book for some CL sites. We are traveling from Durham and are staying at a CL site just off the M5 junction 11. The post code for the one we are going to is "GL51 0FG". The site is called "Homelea" and is in Fiddlers green. Its only

Might be a bit further than you planned to travel before stopping but in the pastI have used the CC site at Tewkesbury for the same purpose. No more than 10 minutes from the motorway, on the edge of town.

We stayed at this site on our way to the New Forest last year and it was ideal for an overnight stopover. It is a CL and is accessible from Junction 12 of the M6 as is a mile or two along the A5.
