Stopovers to Italy

We are intending to visit Italy this summer and want some advice please on the easiest route (preferably straight roads) and suggested stop over sites. Ideally we don't want to travel more than 6 hours per day, we will be crossing on the Eurotunnel and our destinations include Venice and Bologna.

If you are going the route we follow, Belgium, Germany, Austria Innsbruck and Brenner Motorway Look on my website at our intended trip no 8 and some site recommendations there. If you need to know anything more contact me on the website and I will be pleased to help. I have not put the details of some of the sites but I can tell you. We always limit our trips to around 200 miles a day.
