storage in france and insurance

We want to store our 'van in France between touring rather than bring it back to the UK everytime. However - there's a problem. We've discovered that although we are covered whilst touring our CC insurance doesn't cover the 'van whilst in storage. I tried a couple of French companies and they need a french address. Seems we are in catch 22!

Surely other people do this and have managed to find insurance!

We stored our van here for 2 years www.caravanningfrance.com. It is British Owned and Groupama in France insured the vans while in storage or on that site but not for touring off site.

I used Drewe when I did it, but I'm not sure whether they do it now!

We bought a new caravan a week before I was offered a job in Bahrain. The caravan is now stored in France (long story - don't ask). However, we use K Drewe for insurance. Relatively expensive but absolutely no problem and were very happy to insure us. Just renewed about 3 weeks ago.
