I saw some old info regarding storing caravan in Spain or France. I called towergate, they told me I can not store it there permanently, to be exactly, store it for full year. If you use it once out of storage in insurance period, it is O.K. Other insurance providers don't cover storage in Europe. Are anyone still using towergate for European storage as they say?

Read Towergates policy document very carefully
They have some sneaky clauses, one being you have to pay an additional premium to cover any damage when not hitched up to a towcar. So if on a site, and you have a fire, or damage, no cover.

That's not sneaky, that taking money under false pretences - caravans only spend a few hours per year being towed - for many people less than 1% per year

Are you sure?
I had a look and in their policy it says
Public liability insurance for touring caravans

We offer a standard £5,000,000 public liability cover on our policies. We understand a lot of parks require this so we have built it into our policy. Liability arising directly or indirectly while you are towing the caravan is excluded.

Yes, I am VERY SURE.

Public liability is NOT insurance for any loss YOU may suffer!

For confirmation of what I said read the below! Accidental damage whilst towing is covered.

Accidental damage when unhitched is NOT covered unless an additional premium is paid.

I know someone who was caught out by that sneaky clause, caravan ran away whilst being unhitched, so as it wasn't hitched up, no accidental damage cover.

I lived in France for a few years. I had a couple of UK registered cars, I went to an AXA Insurance Office where they spoke perfect English and they insured my UK cars without a problem. I would suggest that if you want to store a Caravan in France you Insure it in France. They also insured my English Registered Power Boat.

I am surprised as you are only allowed to import a vehicle for a relatively short period of time before it must be registered in that country. I think its 6 months, but of course if you come back to the UK for a few days that 6 months starts again.
