Good idea, will check it out when we are thereGiven the scrapes on the fibreglass surround and on the steel plate itself we might assume it is a central guide for part of the lock mechanism - but certainly the epoxy has been clumsily and ineffectively applied! If there is a similar van on the forecourt ask to view that to see if yours is a one/off then get the dealer to solve it!
It may be bad design, but I doubt it compromises the safety of users or the mechanical integrity of the caravan, so it is not recall worthy. More likely a technical action on service instruction for dealers to look out for and correct at a service.Our 2024 challenger is 10 week old and the same has happened to ours!
