Hi, Our van is 236cm high and we went to buy an ultima 390 only to be told by the shop that our van wasnt tall enough for the ultima and it would collect water on the top and from their experience it wasnt suitable. I even had my credit card out and they wouldnt sell us one, they were that adamant about it. Apparently Sunncamp have altered their height suitability on this awning and I think we were quoted 245cm, but check on the official website for the updated measurements.

I was thinking od getting the 390, as we already have the scenic plus. We have just bought a new caravan Bailey Ranger 500/5. Would the height of this van be okay for the ultima 390?

Thanks

Just thought i would update if you were still wondering if your van is suitable for this type of awning.

I got really confused looking into it as some websites say from 230cm, some from 235 and some from 240cm. Decided to ring Sunncamp direct and they said it would be fine from 235cm. I have a Bailey Ranger and measures at this so have ordered one.

Hope this helps

I have found www.awnings.co.uk have the best prices and they do mail order or if you are local to Newcastle Upon Tyne you can call into their showroom as they are part of United British Caravans a Bailey and Swift dealer. I have the ultima 290 and find it good! but you do need totaly straight awning rail along the section that you want either the 260 or 390 to sit along for it to fit correctly.
