Suitable site near Savona, Italy

Can anyone recommend a site not too far of the motorway near Savona, Italy. There are a few in the CC Europe book but all mention that they are difficult for large outfits due to narrow site roads, tree, etc. I have a 4x4 and a 7.2 metre van and have experience of narrow access roads and the like. Will be travelling in mid September. Any help would be appreciated.

is albenga too far away? about 25 miles up the coast from savona? we stayed at La pineta at villanova d'albenga just a few miles from the m/way.its position is good for seeing all the ligurian coast and Monaco and although it was 10 years ago i cannot recall entry being a problem. www.lapinetavacanze.it.

Sounds as if this may be worth a try. Now considering heading up to Torino and through the Frejus Tunnel to get where we are going in France but the price is prohibitive. I suppose that is the beauty of caravanning - you can leave travel decisions until you need to make them!!
