Was due to leave this weekend for a couple of weeks in the Dordogne and hen a week near La Palmyre but my wife today diagnosed with cancer so now cancelled but maybe with luck and a following wind if all goes well maight be able to do it back end of the season.
Our sympathy to you plotter.

Last year we returned from a few days away camping with the decision to go more often and buy a caravan to make it easier.

Waiting for us on our return was a hospital call back letter giving us the same news about my wife having cancer.

All I can say is it can be cured and now we are a starting to enjoy the life that the awful news brought to us.

Good luck to you both

I wish you all the luck going mate, just keep your chin up and be positive. The Dordogne will still be there next year and hopefully when you have put this upset behind you and your wife has recovered all will be right with the world again. I pray that she gets all the treatment she requires without all the hassle thats been going on of late due to costs. Keep smiling the both of you :O)

Sir Anthony, there is nothing anyone can say that will make you or your lady feel better,so I'm not going to try. Good luck, and go safe.

Plotter and Mrs Plotter my thoughts and I'm sure many others will be with you. We have great experience of serious health issues within my family.

I hope that your NHS trust is one of the more forward thinking and well managed ones.

Remember that doctors and specialists have fax and email facilities, a carefuly worded one of these two that you know will end up on the right persons "Desk Top" and you have proof of can be a very worthwhile move.

If things do not happen as quickly as you want or you can't get answers these two options do not get "lost in the post", I hope though that you wife receives the prompt fair help and treatment everyone deserves.

Members of my own family and friends in similiar sittuations have found gaps in treatment when delayed holidays have then been fitted in. They have found that the time away from the routine of home and treatment have had some positive worthwhile results even though taking such a break can need a little more organisation and planned routine etc.

So the Dordogne and one of my favourites LaPalmyre are there at any time soon! Maybe a late summer or autum break can be fitted in. Friends had good service from P&O ferries when there trip was cancelled for the same sort of reason and got priority for a re booking some months later.

Best wishes and good luck to you both.

The Plotter, it must be awfull having to wait for the results, I am sure I can speak for everyone we will be thinking about you both on Wednesday.

Regarding our summer holidays, we are off to the Lakeland site in Cumbria for a week and Polmanter Tourist Park, Halestown, St.Ives, for our main two weeks holiday.

Hi, We live in Cornwall and are going to Polmanter in Aug. Last weekend we went to St Ives for the day and called into polmanter to have a look. Ended up changing to a mulit service pitch whilst we were there. It is a lovely park and the pitches look big. Do you know what pitch you are on and when are you going.

Pitch 251 Serviced we had the last pitch for the two weeks commencing 29th July. It's a large pitch looking on the internet.

Can't wait.

What did you think of the site? Did you walk down into ST. Ives? Any thing close by to the site?

My Auntie lives in St.Ives she recommended it to us.

Allyson. The site looks lovely and the ladies on reception were really nice and very helpful. We were there on a beautiful day (that always makes a difference) but we drove round the whole site. We didn't walk down to St Ives, but went to a nearby beach called Carbis Bay. I can tell you if we could guarantee this weather all summer I don't think anyone would go abroad, because we have the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall and other parts of the country. We are on pitch 141 so can't be that far from yours although we are there at the end of Aug. Hope you have a great time. Denise

Hi Denise

Carbis bay is lovely, my aunt's house looks over it.

Cannot wait now. Do you know that you can go on their webpage and look at your pitch?

Hope you have a good time too.

Allyson
